Terms and Conditions: Courses

These Terms and Conditions set out the terms on which Moss Studio - Store (“Moss”) provides the Services and allows a person to become a student of the Studio. These Terms and Conditions apply to all Students of the Studio and to all applications for Courses at the Studio.

Please review these Terms and Conditions carefully and make sure that you understand them. If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions, you must not become a Student of the Studio or apply to become a Student of the Studio. In the Terms and Conditions the following definitions apply:

Course” means any timetabled, taught class or set of classes for Students;
Class” means any individual period or portion of a Course.
Student” means any person who is attending a Course;
Studio” means Moss Studio - Store at 13 Moss Lane, Stamford House, Altrincham, Cheshire, WA14

References in the Terms and Conditions to the singular will include the plural and vice versa and references to the masculine gender will include references to the feminine gender and vice versa. These Terms and Conditions are incorporated into the Student Registration Form.

The Company may at any time modify these Terms and Conditions. We will notify you of any changes to these Terms and Conditions either by emailing you and/or by posting a notice at the Studio. By continuing to use the Services after changes to these Terms and Conditions are made and notified to you, you agree to be bound by such changes.

You can review the most current version of our Terms and Conditions at any time by clicking on the “Terms and Conditions” link located at the bottom of the Website. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are familiar with the current Terms and Conditions. You are advised to check the above link on a regular basis.

Course information

Course fees will be paid on acceptance onto a course and prior to the start date of the course.

Course fees include the first 3kgs of finished, fired work. Additional work will be charged at the rate of £3 per kg.

Courses will be delivered at the times and dates specified in the course information or, for individual tuition, at the time of booking.

Courses will be delivered by the teacher(s) specified in the course information unless illness or other unforeseen circumstance causes them to be absent in which case a substitute teacher will be provided. In the event no substitute teacher can be found, an additional session will be provided or, if this is not possible, an appropriate refund made for the session(s) not delivered.

Students will have access to all the studio’s facilities appropriate to their course content.

Non-attendance of sessions or courses will not be refunded or substituted.

In the event a Student cannot attend part of a course, they may offer their place to a friend for those sessions. In such a case the friend would also be considered a Student and subject to these terms and conditions.

Moss cannot be held responsible for any injuries caused through the misuse of the studio or equipment.

Cancellations and Refunds

Refunds will only be given as follows: If we receive a cancellation more than 7 days in advance, we will pay a refund of the course fee minus £5 administration charge. If we receive a cancellation with 7 days or less notification, we will only refund the course fee in gift vouchers (minus £5 administration charge) if we manage to re-sell the booking.

Products

Our products are sold online in limited quantities and availabilities. 

We have made every effort to display as accurately as possible the colours and images of our products that appear at the store. We cannot guarantee that your computer monitor's display of any colour will be accurate, so please be aware of this when ordering. 

The majority of our products are handmade and therefore slight variations will occur in each piece, this is particularly true for handmade ceramics. 

Please contact us if you have any specific questions about an item and we will answer to the best of our ability.

Our prices are in GBP (£). 

Prices for our products are subject to change without notice.
We reserve the right at any time to modify or discontinue the website (or any part or content thereof) without notice at any time.
We shall not be liable to you or to any third-party for any modification, price change, suspension or discontinuance of the website.

Orders

On placing an order with us, you will receive a confirmation email to let you know that we have received your order. Our acceptance of your order brings into existence a legally binding contract between us. Please ensure you keep this email as we may need you to refer to it should there be any issues with your order. 

All orders are subject to availability and confirmation of the order.

In the unlikely case of an error on the website, we will try to contact you to resolve the issue but we reserve the right to correct any errors and inaccuracies, update any information and/or cancel orders where necessary without prior notice. 

Payment

We accept payment from all major credit and debit cards, or via PayPal. Card payments are processed securely through payment portal XXXX. 

Payment will be debited from your account prior to the order being dispatched to you. All credit/debit card holders are subject to validation checks and authorisation by the card issuer. In the event of a card refusal, we will not accept the order. In this case we will not be liable for delay or non delivery. 

Xxxxxx All communication between our payment system and the cardholder is made through an encrypted SSL-line (Secure Socket Layer). 

We will not have any access to your data that is exchanged in connection with the purchase. All personal contact information is held strictly confidential. We guarantee no other persons will have access to any of your personal information or payment details. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

delivery

UK Delivery is charged at £4 per order, as standard. 

Orders (where standard delivery has been selected at checkout) will be sent out using the Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For service. We aim to dispatch your order the same or next day. Your order should arrive 1-3 working days after dispatch and will require a signature upon delivery. Should a signature not be received, your parcel will be taken to your local post office depot and it will be your responsibility to arrange collection or redelivery (no cost) on an alternate day - this will need to be done within 2 weeks or your order will be sent back to us. 

We also offer Next Day Delivery via Royal Mail Special Delivery. This service is fully trackable and is guaranteed to arrive the next working day (as long as your ordered is placed is placed by 1pm). If your order is received after 1pm it may be dispatched the following morning and will arrive the day after. It is advisable to use this option if you are placing a high value order. This option is offered at a set charge of £10 regardless of the size of your order. 

The goods will be delivered to the address provided by the customer. Costs which are incurred due to incorrect address information, may be passed on to the customer. We shall not be liable for delays or other disadvantages, which result from an incorrect address. 

Occasionally, circumstances beyond our control can delay the delivery date. We cannot accept liability for any inconvenience that may result from the delay. 

Delivery to Europe - Prices start at £10, depending on the size of your order. All orders will be sent out using Royal Mail's International Tracked & Signed service and will arrive approximately 5-7 working days after dispatch and will require a signature upon delivery. Please note, Moss Studio-Store will not be responsible for any additional charges such as import duty and tax and custom charges that customers may incur when orders arrive in the designated country. 

On the rare occasion that an item that you have ordered is out of stock we will contact you on receiving your order to advise you of the earliest possible delivery date of the item. If you are not satisfied with the alternative delivery date you will have the option to cancel the order and we will provide you with a refund. 

Returns

Should you wish to return anything to us please contact us by email before shipping your item back to us. We are unable to accept returns without prior written consent so please do not send any items back without contacting us first. 

We are unable to cover the costs you incur by returning unwanted goods - these costs are to be paid by the customer. Items must be sent back within 14 days of purchase and must be in the same condition as they were when they were sent out to you. 

Once we have received the return, the item(s) will be checked and then a refund will be processed. Refunds can only be made to the card used as original payment and will take up to 7 days to be credited back to you. 

When returning items by post, the parcel and its contents are your responsibility until they reach us. This does not affect your statutory rights. We would recommend you use a registered postal service and please retain the proof of postage. We cannot be held responsible for returned goods being lost or damaged in transit. 

Please note, we are not able to refund or exchange any skincare products or jewellery. 

Damaged/Faulty Goods

All of our products are carefully inspected before sending and packaged to ensure that they reach you in perfect condition. 

In the unlikely event that you receive a damaged or faulty item, please let us know as soon as possible by emailing info@moss-studio-store.com and include your order number and preferred contact details. We will then endeavour to resolve the situation as quickly as possible. Please do not send items back without contacting us first. 

Returns of faulty items will only be accepted if the goods were faulty when delivered to you. All items returned as faulty will be inspected upon return, when we will decide whether to accept the item as faulty. Please use a registered postal service as we cannot be held responsible for goods being lost during delivery. Please also retain the proof of postage as we will require this for our records and in order to reimburse you the correct amount. If we are unable to provide you with a replacement for any reason, we will be happy to refund you in full. 

Should you receive an incorrect item, please follow the above procedure. We will reimburse the cost of returning it to us. 

Privacy policy

We take your privacy very seriously. When using our site, we want our customers to feel confident that their personal information and credit card data is protected. In the same way as we are dedicated to bringing you the very best products, we are equally committed to providing our customers with a safe and secure shopping experience. 

We treat all personal information as highly confidential and will never pass on any information to third parties. We do not have any access to, or ability to store, your payment details. 

Any personal information that is collected online is securely stored and never shared with any third parties. We only ask for the necessary personal details which are required in order to process your order. We take appropriate precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure this information is not lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully and will not pass it onto third parties, or send you marketing emails unless you have chosen to receive updates by signing up to our mailing list. We will not email you in the future unless you have given us your consent, or it is directly relevant to an order you have placed. You can also unsubscribe to our mailing list at any time, either by using the unsubscribe button on our newsletters or by contacting us and asking to be removed. 

Our online store is hosted by Squarespace, who provide us with an online ecommerce platform. Your data is stored securely through Squarespace's data storage and databases behind a firewall. 



Use of Cookies

We use cookies on our website only to ensure the best browsing experience, and allow certain aspects of the website and shop function to run correctly. 

You have the option to disable cookies in your browser, or delete them upon leaving our website should you wish.
